‘Intellectual Property Rights in South East Asia: Workshop’
Bangkok, 22 January 2013
In order to identify and support cooperation for the framework conditions in STI and effective private public partnership, as well as contribute to the Innovation Session of the STI Days 2014, this workshop on Intellectual Property Rights will invite selected experts from public and private sectors to introduce and discuss relevant IPR issues with the target audience. The Workshop features presentations on the ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk project with major findings regarding and an overview of the IPR framework conditions in ASEAN Member States; provision of expert´s inputs on do’s and dont’s for producing IP through research activities and good practices examples on supporting researchers on IP issues in different cases; as well as a panel discussion including representatives from the private and public sectors. A general Q&A session will be available at the end for experts to interact with the audience. The workshop will be held in collaboration with the ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk, an EU-funded project that has already conducted in-depth and comprehensive studies on IPR issues in ASEAN with key outcomes (such as the IP country profiles) available to the public.
