Event Description:

 

The South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk partnered with the Chambre de Commerce Luxembourg to participate in a workshop during the Greater Region Business Days Trade Fair. Together with the China and Mercosur IPR SME Helpdesks the Team Leader, Simon Cheetham, will give an introduction to the Helpdesk and its services. The goal of this workshop is to raise the awareness of the importance of IP protection while doing business in South-East Asia, as well information on practical steps to entering the South-East Asia market. Furthermore, the Helpdesk's events and partnerships officer, Ronan Breen, will be on site and available for B2B meetings to discuss how to Helpdesk can work with you.

Expert bio:

 

Simon Cheetham

 

Simon Cheetham is the Team Leader of the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk. He is a South-East Asia IPR Enforcement expert with over 30 years' experience in commercial investigations, due diligence and IPR enforcement in South-East Asia and internationally. He has lived and worked in China and South-East Asia for over 17 years. He is also the Managing Director of ERINYES INTERNATIONAL LTD, a firm he founded to capitalise on his extensive experience of international investigations, loss prevention and enforcement work. He manages and directs the operations of the Company from Europe to the Far East. Simon began his career with the Hong Kong Police, where he was responsible for the detection and prosecution of a wide variety of crimes. While in South-East Asia Simon was Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce IP Committee. He has lectured frequently around the world on security issues and IPR and has served as a short-term expert at ASEAN Seminar in Singapore and a speaker on the topic of Famous Marks and IP protection between borders within ASEAN. He is fluent in English and Cantonese.
