South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk

Construction & Building Technologies Virtual Business Mission to Philippines and Singapore

BCA forecasts construction demand for Singapore to reach between €17.9 billion and €22.5 billion per year for 2020 and 2021 and between €18.5 billion and €23.2 billion per year for 2022 and 2023.

On the other hand, the Asia Development Bank forecasted that an annual infrastructural spending of €1.52 billion is needed until 2030 to maintain Philippines’ economic progress as it’s growth is currently hindered by lacklustre infrastructures.

With this, the government can explore innovative solutions provided by the EU companies to assist in meeting the construction demand for both Singapore and Philippines.

The EU Business Avenues in South East Asia programme will bring European companies to participate on a virtual business mission from 4 – 8 November 2020 as part of PHILCONSTRUCT 2020, to explore partnership opportunities.

In this framework, on 4 November, the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk’s External Experts, Mr. Edmund Jason Baranda – Managing Partner of Baranda & Associates, Member of the Rouse Network and Mr. Jevon Louis – Partner of Shook Lin & Bok LLP will represent the Helpdesk to deliver a 15-minnutes Presentation exclusively focusing on the key IPR messages that the EU companies should be aware of when doing business in the Philippines and Singapore, respectively.

Furthermore, on 5-6 November, the External IP Experts, Ms. Wai Yeng Chan – Head, IP Strategy of Taylor Vinters Via LLC; Mr. Jevon Louis – Partner of Shook Lin & Bok LLP; along with members of the SEA IP SME Helpdesk’s Team will attend the B2B Meetings from 15:30-18:00 (Singapore Time) & provide 1:1 consultations on IP protection in SEA/ Singapore/ the Philippines for EU Companies.
