Expert bios:


Mr. Doan Son

Son Doan is the managing partner of IPMAX Law Firm with more than 16 years of experience practising Intellectual Property Law in Vietnam. Before the set up of IPMAX Law Firm, Son worked for a UK Intellectual Property firm for 12 years and at the same time, managed Doan Hong Son Law Office, a local patent and trademark agency. Son has extensive experiences in handling various contentious and noncontentious matters, from securing protection to enforcement of intellectual property rights in Vietnam, including patents, trade marks, industrial designs and copyrights. He has also assisted multinational corporations in devising enforcement strategies and organizing nationwide enforcement programs. He has been ranked as one of the leading individuals in WTR 1000 (2013) and Chambers Asia Pacific (2013). 

Son is a frequent author and presenter on intellectual property topics. He has provided comments to various draft laws including the Intellectual Property Law, the Law on Competition and subsequent guiding regulations. Son joined the Helpdesk network in October 2013.
