Event Description:

Organised in the partnership with Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP), this seminar will outline the landscape of IPR protection systems in the ASEAN region.

You will be able to get an overview of the current situation of IPR protection available while expanding on South-East Asian market. Michal Klaczynski, ASEAN Helpdesk expert, will deliver the presentation providing you with useful case studies from Indonesia and Thailand.

After the main event, you will have a chance to sign up for the one-on-one consultations with the expert.

·          Introduction to the EU SME Centre and its diagnostic kit for SMEs doing business in China.

·          A general introduction to China’s macroeconomic framework and what it means for European SMEs, including specific opportunities by industry sector.

·          Case studies – examples of SMEs that share experiences and best practices doing business in China.

·          Question and answer session.

·          Introduction to the market situation in South-East Asia

Speaker biography:

Michal Klaczynski is a lawyer educated in USA (Harvard Law School), China (Sichuan University) and Poland (Jagiellonian University). He has over 10 years of experience in transactional and regulatory work,  including projects in China, Central Asia and Southeast Asia, while working for international law firms and multinational corporations.

Mr Klaczynski’s expertise includes IP law (in several jurisdictions - Poland, USA, China and few Southeast Asian countries), in particular - copyright law, trade secrets, trademarks, as well as negotiating licensing, manufacturing and distribution agreements in international context.
