Event Description:

This event is the result of a collaboration with the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk. It aims to provide pratical advice from experts on how to do business in the ASEAN region. The event emcompasses a variety of lectures, seminars and consultations, providing businesses either orperating in the region or considering internationalising there, with the opportunity to gain key information and insight. The South-East Asia IPR SME expert Karl Racklette will deliver a presentaion at the event introudcing the services of the Helpdeska and providing tips and tricks.

Expert Bios


Dr Karl Rackette is a patent and trademark attorney and the senior partner of the RACKETTE Partnerschaft Patentanwalte in Freiburg, Germany. He is also a professional representative before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, WIPO as well as the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs).

Dr Rackette also obtained a Master of Intellectual Property Law and Management from the University of Strasbourg. He undertook training to become a trademark and patent attorney in 1976.


Dr Rackette has been invited to speak on numerous occasions by the EPO, WIPO and other organisations. Since 1992 he has been teaching at the Center for International Industrial Property Studies (CEIPI) in Strasbourg, France and since 1997 he has been a tutor for the South East Asian Patent Drafting Course organized by FICPI in Asia.
