Event Description:


The ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk partnered with EU Business Avenues to organise an online seminar for EU SMEs in the Clean-tech industry to prepare for a business mission to Singapore and Malaysia in October 2014. The ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk Business Advisor, Jakub Ramocki, will provide a presentation on IP landscape in Singapore and Malaysia, followed by an introduction of the ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk at the services it provides for EU SMEs.

Speaker biography:


Jakub Ramocki is the IP Business Advisor of the ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk. Now based in Indonesia, Jakub began his professional career in Ecuador as a legal consultant with the Polish Consulate in Quito where he provided assistance to European citizens on a wide range of complex legal issues. Jakub later worked as an examiner of the Trade Mark Department in the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) in Alicante. His primary task with OHIM was the drafting of trade mark opposition decisions.

In June 2011, Jakub assumed the role of legal advisor to the IP Helpline of the European IPR Helpdesk – a service of the European Commission providing advice and support in Intellectual Property related issues to European SMEs as well as beneficiaries of EU-funded projects. The Helpline service, which he coordinated from March 2013, was operated by a team of IP experts offering advice on IP related issues and agreements such as licensing agreements, joint ownership agreements and consortium agreements.

Jakub graduated from the European University “Viadrina” (Germany) and from the University of Adam Mickiewicz (Poland). He is fluent in Polish, English, Spanish and German.
